Each WSCBT therapist:
- has worked in the NHS on average for 10 years of more, and has approximately 15 years experience working with a wide range of mental health problems
- is involved in the training or supervision of other professionals in CBT
- offers teaching and workshops in CBT
Nicola Ridgeway, RMN, Pgcert, BSc, ClinPsyD., C. Psychol, Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist
Nicola is the Clinical Director of the West Suffolk CBT Service. An accredited cognitive therapist with the BABCP, she completed her initial CBT training at Oxford University in 1996. Nicola currently offers individual treatment, as well as clinical supervision to a variety of CBT practitioners. Nicola regularly lectures at the University of East Anglia and the University of Essex. Nicola is also the current chairperson of the Eastern Counties Branch of the BABCP.
At the University of Essex, Nicola has responsibility for overseeing CBT training for all Clinical Doctorate students, while at the University of East Anglia Nicola is involved in the direct assessment and supervision of students on the CBT Diploma. Nicola has three new CBT books out this year.

Chris McDonnell, RMN, DipCBT
Chris is an Associate Director of the West Suffolk CBT Service. She is an accredited cognitive therapist and has more than 20 years experience working for the NHS and privately. She has considerable experience offering cognitive behaviour therapy to individuals with both short and longer-term difficulties.
James Manning, BSc, ClinPsyD., PgDip
James is Managing Director of the WSCBT, as well as a practicing therapist. James specialises in helping individuals who are struggling in work situations (as a result of anxiety, depression and/or stress) to overcome their difficulties and make a rapid return to work. James has also recently written this article on depression in adolescents.
